Visit with Capt (Ret’d) Keith Bisset

On Wed 23 Nov 16 I had the honour and privilege of visiting Capt Keith Bisset at his retirement home in Kanata ON. For a 91 year old gentleman, Keith was sharp as a tack and exceptionally delightful and easy to converse with. He regaled me with many wonderful tales of his experiences throughout his years as a Canadian Army pilot. At the time I visited Keith, to the best of my knowledge he was the senior Canadian Army Pilot on the planet and one of the 33% out of a total of 371 alive today. I left Keith’s place totally elated with the knowledge that he was doing relatively well health-wise for a young 91 year old and that I had just spent an awesome hour with a living Canadian Army Aviation legend in his own time, to boot. It was a very sad day to learn of Keith taking his Last flight 22 Jul 18 at The Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Care Center in Ottawa ON. He has now gone to the big hangar in the sky and is no doubt regaling his fellow Canadian Army Aviators who have preceded him with his treasure of wonderful stories. Rest in peace Keith as you have truly earned it.
